Studying on Bunpro, the structure indicates that (の)is sometimes used with ~だろうか。
But, I can’t find the reason why anywhere. I asked my Japanese tutor, and she said she would get back to me next week, but I’m hoping you clever lot can help me out sooner!
So, what’s the deal?

It’s the explanatory の (think のです/んです/のだ/んだ)
It can appear in the construction of 〜だろうか but according to this article, it doesn’t change the meaning (or if anything maybe just emphasizes that the speaker is doubting/wondering about something?)

Thank you, that’s super helpful. So it’s just an emphasizer!
Those little nuances can be so important.
