There are a bunch of licensed ones though where you can read for free… why not rec those?

Copying these over from other posts so hopefully they’re easier to find in the future
- Jump+ (app, Shonen Jump manga mostly)
- LINE Manga (a variety)
- YanJan+ (Young Jump manga)
- Comic Days (Afternoon/Morning/etc brand manga)
- Bookwalker (often has free to read)
This site specifically shows where to buy digital copies of JoJo, but some of the 45+ online retailers listed when you scroll down probably have free chapters or volumes of Naruto

Nice, thanks! Looks like all of these are Japan-only except for BookWalker, but the BW deals can be really excellent every now and then so I will remember to recommend it more often. I’ll put the other options in the top post just in case another Japan resident is interested

It’s not like vpns are illegal in most countries. I know jump plus isn’t limited to Japan either though

Yes, sorry, to clarify further – Manga Plus seems to only offer manga in English and Spanish outside of Japan
And yeah, someone with a VPN can access Japanese websites. Thanks again!

Our little Naruto readathon day is happening tomorrow (Oct 10)! @soggyboy and I will be posting readathon-esque updates (time, pages, accomplishments) here in the main thread, and then dumping reactions and panel screenshots in the arc threads to avoid spoilers here.
(And if we do more naru days in the future, it’ll be easy to scroll back up the main thread to see past updates all in one place

I am unfortunately very busy today and the whole weekend but I’ll try to read at least one volum!
- ~ 2 Hours read and finished with volum 8 (184 pages)
- 1.5 hours read and finished with volum 9! (184 pages) Now I will be busy for the rest of the day. I miiight read some more tonight but probably not
