A Very Dattebayo Saturday Approaches

I need to catch up on threads and volumes, so I’ll be reading all day May 23, 2026! Feel free to join in and read along with me :books::fire:

Happy :cyclone: :fox: NARU DAY!! :fox: :cyclone:

The next volume for me will be vol 17, maybe I can read 17-19 and finish the Search for Tsunade arc!!

But before I remember what was going on in ninja world, breakfast… :bread:

:white_check_mark: Vol 17, 182 pgs

First volume of the day done! I’ve been reading Dungeon Meshi all week and it’s kinda crazy going from a L30 no-furigana manga to this where everything has furigana and all the dialogue is just like チクショウゥゥゥゥゥゥゥゥゥ!! :joy:

Maybe it’s lunchtime now, I have some instant ramen in the pantry that would be on theme… :steaming_bowl:

Slept in a bit later than I’d hoped but I’m up and ready to read!!

One hour of reading down! It’s been a while since I did any marathon reading and I’ve definitely gotten slower in the meantime. I’m roughly halfway through Vol. 18 currently, the story tension is building but there’s generally a lot of dialogue so I’m trying my best to stay attentive to the exposition.

I also wanted to use today to catch up on posting the arc threads – I will use this break to write up and post the Akatsuki Suppression Arc!! :crossed_swords: :cloud:

My Totals: 90 pages, 1:00

EDIT:

The Akatsuki Suppression Arc thread had been posted! This arc covers vols. 35 through 38, bookended by some really gorgeous cover art :star_struck:

Back to reading!

:white_check_mark: Vol. 18 完了!

My first completed volume of anything since March  This one took me a while (the text-dense pages of this volume weren’t helping) but there was some really excellent character art and fascinating story developments. I’m excited to continue onward!

I have two more arc threads to catch up on, so I think I will pause briefly and get Arc 9 made before I continue on to volume 19

My totals: 2:30:00, 192 pages

EDIT:

The Itachi Pursuit Arc thread is now posted!! If I remember correctly, there was/were one or two people hovering around this part of the story. The thread is now posted and the world is your oyster :black_bird: :fire:

:white_check_mark: Volume 18, 192 pages

Started reading this volume then went on an errand, then got distracted by this and that… just finished! I’ve also been treating this kind of like a readathon day and have read 2 weeks of the Moomin club to catch up a bit.

Let’s warm up those reading muscles again ttebayo!!

GASP soggy and i are at the same spot again, all’s right in the world

HI NARU DAYS i just finished volume 35 and i wish i found out about this one earlier because im too tired to keep going for now, but at least one volume ahead C:

GOOD LUCK TO ALL NARU READERS HELLO

Volume 19 now complete! My time was a little faster on this one, though I’m not sure if it’s because I’m gaining some of my speed back or because there was a lot of compelling action in this one  The end had me choked up though :sob:

I’m taking a break for now, I might return to start volume 20 before the day is over but I have some tasks so complete so I don’t think I’ll be able to finish it in time  Some pages are better than no pages, though!

My totals: 4:00:00, 384 pages

:white_check_mark: volume 19 finished!!

That’s my 3rd volume completed and goal for the day!! These are going pretty fast now, I think I could make my goal 4 or 5 volumes next naru day. But then again, a light goal leaves plenty of time for screwing around during the day :joy:

Staying on-time for once with the thread release for :red_paper_lantern: Arc 10: The Tale of Jiraiya The Gallant :relieved: A super short arc, only 1.5 volumes, but packed full of action!

Using this opportunity to do a little extra reading of my own and diving into vol. 20!! :books: :ninja:

Thanks again for a great naru day last week :growing_heart: :fish_cake_with_swirl:

@polv I see you zooming through the volumes :eyes:

Actually, I bought volumes by arcs as written in the OP, and seeing it’s the date for the current arc already.

I don’t want to buy all 72 volumes at once, too much commitment and money. Table helps define where money stops. and, tbh, nostalgic points. I am not interested in sequels, but this one is at times better than I thought.
