Update
I got 5ish h of sleep, was too sleepy and then went back to bed.
After I woke up, I finished off this week’s mushishi chapter and then I started the guy was was interested in wasn’t a guy at all 2 while eating lunch. It took me about 20 pages before I started questioning if I had read it before and then another 10 to be certain that yes I had and I hadn’t just previewed the volume. Whoops. Well, I can’t read JoJo while eating, so I’ll pick up the 3rd volume to read over dinner before getting back into JoJo.
After lunch, I made it through 1.5 chapters of JoJo (including entering vocab and making questions) before I got so sleepy that I took a nap break. Now I’m back from my nap break. I just finished the vocab and questions for the second chapter of JoJo so I figured I’d update here.
About 6h left in my 24h, gonna push my pedal to the metal!

Update 5:
Took a longer break than expected, but that’s fine. Good point to do it at about halfway through anyway.
Back on the wagon with about an hour of Spy x Family vol.1. I read the first 40 or so pages (very extensively) last readathon and haven’t touched it since so I went back to the start. It feels a lot better this time even once I got part that initial section. Anime knowledge helps but I’m just better at knowing/figuring out the more obscure vocab now, just goes more smoothly. It actually felt less dense and a bit easier than ナナ tbh, as shown by the stats.
Anyway, another quick break, then back on it. I’m enjoying Spy x Family, so after the break I’ll probably push through the remaining 40% of this, then back to novel or something. Will finish ナナ later on before starting another manga (if I get to that point… might be a late on extension bonus thing).
Also need to get through a bit of ひぐらし, might end up just being an hour or so at some point this evening.

Ok, last night I did my third session and finished Frieren 5 and started Frieren 6. And this morning with one hour left I went back to read Zenitendo 7’s prologue more intensively, and then more of Ch 1 extensively. It’s really good! And then I had to rush out to water my plants before it gets too hot out. Now I’m back for posting my summary:

Oo yeah I thought so. Nice to hear that it gets bearable in the middle though.
Not sure if I read it in your review or someone else’s on Natively, but they said the part about the MCs (ex) relationship is interesting, so I’ll look forward to that and the cat scenes hehe.

Second update; 17:45.
It’s almost time for dinner so I’m taking a break from reading. We arrived at our hotel for the day about an hour ago. Aside from said dinner no specific plans for today, so I should get a lot of reading in. 
Progress since last time:
Finished wk 4 of 香君. 8%/35 pages in 55 minutes.
Started 百年文通 because it’s just 130 (Kindle) pages and I thought I might manage to finish that today. 
So far I’m 44% (~58 pgs?) and 104 minutes in. It’s a pretty chill read; I’m mostly ignoring the old Kanji that crop up sometimes when it’s clear that the protag doesn’t know what they mean either. Still some lookups here and there. All in all it’s taken a bit longer than anticipated but since there’s no print version, I’ve no clue what the Kindle page count means in normal pages anyway.

Update 6:
Finished Spy x Family! It got easier as it went on, wasn’t that hard overall to be honest, just the initial part is quite intimidating compared to other manga. I have volume 2 lying around somewhere as well which I’ll leave for another day, but this might become another series to stick to.
However, took me a while lying around before I could get to reading, falling off the wagon slightly. Last time I said a short break and then that turned into like an hour, so this time, setting 5 min timer, then straight back to it. I don’t need to wake up early tomorrow, so realistically I can read till like midnight if need be. Probably don’t want to do that though, so maybe finish by like 11-11:30, which gives me 4-5 hours to get through hopefully 2.5 more hours reading.
To keep things fresh, going to do some ひぐらし for a bit (maybe an hour would be good), then dinner, novel, finish off ナナ, if I have any more time, probably start another manga.

I had a bit of a break to take my Preply class and have lunch, but now I have just short of three hours left of the challenge. I think I’ll jump into 呪われた少年 as I want the prose reading practice. I have no idea how far I’ll get so no specific goals, I’ll be happy with whatever the number is at the end!

I read 47 pages of 負けませんからと言い張る顔のいい女の子を、全力で屈服させる百合のお話 in 1h 39 min.
That means my final result is 144 pages in 5h 9 min. I read more slowly than the previous readathon, but I’m thinking the difference might be because I read the fourth volume of a series last time vs a first volume and a standalone this time. One of the two books was also a bit harder than the one I read the previous readathon. I read on my laptop last time but on a tablet this time, so I wonder if that affects the result in either direction.
Either way I didn’t make my goal, but 144 pages is still an okay result.

First little update from me. Iced coffee w SO on a deck chair in the sun 
Turns out last night I counted badly and I read 5 chapters of Akiko on satori reader. Added another 2 this morning in about 15-20 mins.
Then しろくまカフェ chapter 7 - about 25 mins for 12 pages making heavy use of the vocab sheet (the one from the OG book club a couple of years ago) and occasional google translate when I couldn’t get the words to fit together into a sentence in my head ha. There were a fair few panels where neither of those were required though which was nice!
Across both my total guesstimate of what’s the limiting factor on comprehension is about 45:45:10 kanji/vocab/grammar. There are a decent amount of words I know only by their sound, a decent chunk where I don’t know the vocab at all, and then it’s usually only occasionally I can’t puzzle out the meaning once I understand the words.

Update 7:
Higurashi went well! After reading the whole first volume in April, I basically haven’t read any of it for all of May and June, being more focused on novels. Now that I’m slightly more back in the flow, it feels good, and a lot easier than when starting volume 1, though. Finished the first 2 days of 綿流し編 and the hints for both days just now. Reading speed good, enjoyable, good mining, good all around. If possible I want to get back into the habit of reading this for an hour or so at least a few days a week and slowly work through the whole thing. I don’t want to completely switch to it and neglect novels/manga though.
Now, time for dinner. In the spirit of readathon, I might head out to a ファミレス and get Pizza (special coupon deal) while reading for a bit. Won’t be the best reading environment but it all adds up.
Almost at 7 hours total. I should comfortably get past goal of 8 hours, have already beaten (low) novel goal, all that’ll be left is manga goal (which is quite far off). So after I get back, I’ll finish ナナ, and maybe start probablyyyyy ルックバック I reckon.
