Your worst typos WaniKani has accepted

Weak point is the primary meaning for 弱点. Did you mean the conversation about 欠点 above? Yes, that has weak point as an allowed synonym.

I hate how box is so picky

I don’t think this was supposed to be correct. Now I can unburn this word but than i’d have to start over…

For any three letter words, typos are unacceptable it seems

First I thought “Ahhh, I forget “be” between to and not” but…

I still don’t know how it accepted it, but I mistyped my username as @trunklayer and it still let me in. (Maybe “mySekritP@ssw0rd” isn’t secure any more.)

Can’t be – apart from anything else, WaniKani requires whole email, not just username.

(elementary school student)

I don’t have any to contribute, but I just want to take a moment to say how much I love this feature. I swipe type and I’m always pleasantly surprised when a completely wrong word gets accepted as correct when I knew the right answer and was actually trying to type the right word.

However, a feature request that would only help a few of us would be a wild answer redo. If the word(s) i give for a meaning isn’t a word or phrase that is used in any meanings in the whole system I would love to see the option to edit my answer and try again. Though with some logic because there’s no “I don’t know” button and so I give single character answers to skip guessing a lot.

Unfortunately my trigger finger is too fast and I submit these wrong answers before I finish reading what I type. I also will accidentally skip past the wrong answer screen four or five times when I really wanted to tap and review the reading/meaning. There are a few words that I know well but have not burned just because I nearly always mistype it.

“elementary school” is already blocked. Guess you got around it by swapping the a for s, and typo forgiveness picked it up as “elementary school student”

Aye, the “close enough” detector has a sneaky way of getting around the block list. Not much you can do about that without blocking every possible misspelling. There’s only, oh… 2.22*1036 possible options… for answers which differ by one incorrect letter. Then you gotta add in two incorrect letters, three incorrect, swaps, omissions, insertions… :stuck_out_tongue:

This would be a GREAT idea

Well it seems I made the wrong comparision. This should not be allowed right?

i think this deserve to go to the block list.
thank you wanikani’s team for allowing typos (and thus have to manually add stuff into the block list). I make so many typos everyday, without this feature my correct percentage would probably be a lot lower :see_no_evil_monkey:

I tried this on my end and it was marked wrong. If this happens again, could you let us know at hello@wanikani.com? And are you running any scripts or browser extensions? Thanks!

1, 2, 3 o’clock, 4 o’clock BLOCK! 5, 6, 7 o’clock, 8 o’clock BLOCK! 9, 10, 11 o’clock, 12 o’clock BLOCK! We’re gonna BLOCK around the clock tonight!

(This one is blocked, and you can probably expect more rock-block puns from me in the future.)

There was a typo in that example.
