Does anyone have any advice for hitting that sweet spot on WK when everything just disappears from your brain? I’ve been stuck at L10 for what seems like an eternity, and can barely get through a handful of reviews without getting frustrated and shutting my whole laptop down. I took a break from L10 a few weeks ago to work on all my other reviews that were getting too much from previous levels, but within a week the overwhelm has been creeping back in and I can barely focus. I’m also trying to do grammar simultaneously and I’m worried I’ll burn myself out. I’m not the fastest learner, and I prefer to take my time, but that’s making me feel even worse at the moment! Any advice on managing the L10 overwhelm is appreciated
What’s your Apprentice count? You shouldn’t take more lessons if you still have reviews. Turn those failed items into lessons instead by studying them more. Oh and don’t forget that mistakes are part of the process.
Hey, level 38 use here. I understand what you feel and it doesn’t go away. My trick when it’s getting too much is doind micro sessions of a few review several time during the day. Using the “last 10 items” button is very helpful because instead of just stopping there you get the extra motivation to go through 10 extra reviews.
Being focused for 20 or 30 reviews is much easier than doing 30 and seeing you have hundreds still to go.
Other users have already provided great advice, so my tidbit would be to remember that you do not have to clear your entire review queue every day. If you’re looking at 200 reviews, only do 50-100 then take a break. Sometimes you can get fatigued really easily at certain levels and it’s hard to remember certain entries, especially if you’re studying grammar at the same time.
It hovers around 100 typically, which is bit high for me. I like 70-75 as I find it less overwhelming. So yes, maybe I should reduce my lesson count to help
I mean, I’ve been practicing outside of here on several other fronts outside of here including Duolingo and YouTube (both watching videos and doing the quizzes), and I think it’s made the level I have been on easier to come back to and actually complete.
It’s alright to only do those 70-75 everyday until you’re hitting that quantity on your daily log-in. I sometimes get stuck in bouts of 300-400 reviews and I just want to cry, but a little elbow grease and giving myself grace, and I’m back to only 30-50 reviews somedays
