Of course, that’s true. To be honest I used to hate TV and I am not consciously watching it but my kids do so my understanding of a Batsu Game is very limited. But in my impression the whole concept of evening TV is to make people end up in awkward situations you wouldn’t want to find yourself in (as a normal person).

He’s actually a super fun person! Always makes me laugh on Thursdays. In the past I used to dislike him, because the other announcers (usually female) would speak very politely (敬語 or 謙譲語 or just regular polite), but he was always very casual, even more so in the section where announcers read online comments. His English is actually really good, too.

This is so important! My husband still gives me tips on how I should learn and they are so weird and discouraging we end up fighting on this topic a lot (which is one of the only topics actually).
Last week when he said to me again it is a waste of time to make Anki flash cards and I should just watch TV (I really hate making these decks) I was so frustrated that I yelled at him: “If you can now say in an American accent “I am the president of the United States of America” I will listen to your advices, but if you can not then please shut up once and for all because you are not in a position to tell anyone how to learn a language!”
Somehow he sensed the seriousness of the situation and really tried that, and the result was so funny that I did not get divorced in the end. But I was really angry, which also doesn’t happen often these days.
