I fell into a major slump over the past year, so though it’s encouraged not to I finally reset a few levels. I’m so glad I did, it’s way easier to make progress without a backlog weighing on you, and the newfound motivation meant that I could see this for the first time in nearly two years :’)

Level 6!
I previously was in the mid-twenties, but went a year without doing any reviews, so I reset down to level one because I wasn’t sure how much I remembered. Turns out I remember more than I thought, but it’s nice having some easy levels to get back into the rhythm of Wanikani.

Thanks! ^>^ I’m defo struggling a bit more now. More items go back from guru to apprentice. I’ve started stretching out the lessons a bit more on each level. Still, I wanna get that satisfaction of not having pending lessons as I move from one level to another so, I’m glad I’ve managed to keep disciplined enough to get that 0/0. ^^
You’ve done really well yourself. Sure, there was that hiccup but otherwise you’ve mostly gotten 0/0 for each level.

damn I thought this was about being self-indulgent and ignoring wanikani for a day or two (understanding ‘streak’ as in duolingo = how many days you’ve been active on the platform)
Haha I see how you could think that!
But the reality is quite ironically the opposite, on Wanikani, being self indulgent means do your reviews everyday! So you don’t come back to a huge pile of reviews, very hard to get through and quite demotivating (or if you want to take a break, that’s fine too but use vacation mode!)(and if you have too many reviews per day, try to do less lessons per day)

Strangely enough I love doin reviews but I dislike doing lessons bc they take some time, and I dislike doing vocab lessons even more because they take even longer lol I know the main goal here is about learning vocab but that’s just how my lazy brain works
