Things are proceeding slower since I came back from Japan.
- I started getting burned items at some point, which increased the number of reviews.
- While in Japan, I realised that many of the kanji I was supposed to know I didnāt know, or that I wasnāt completely sure if I knew a kanji or was mistaking it for another one.
- Consequentially, I started using less the undo functionality, and taking it more seriously. If I donāt know something, I just fail it.
- Also, lately I have been choosing my vocabulary reviews instead of doing them all. I go through the list of available words and choose the ones that I think are more important. There are many words that I feel like I wonāt need in a long time - I donāt even use them in Spanish or English, soā¦
My plans of achieving level 30 next march look increasingly difficult
Well, after more than three months, Iām finally at level 19! This is way past my deadline, as I originally intended to be on level 30 after one year of WK. I recently passed my anniversary, so yeah, quite behind the original schedule. Nevertheless, Iām quite happy with my progress, as I have been progressing slower on intention. As I said on my last post, after being in Japan last autumn, I realised that there were many kanji that I mistook for others, or that I was supposed to know and didnāt remember; therefore I took a step back and refrained from learning new stuff until I had more control of the one I was supposed to know.
Also, I went to Japan again! This time for five weeks. I think my Japanese improved quite a bit while over there. I also found myself constantly looking for kanji, thatās why I developed this small application (I call it WKradicals) that allows me to find kanji by radical names.
Letās see how it goes with level 19! Lots of vocabulary remaining from previous levels, so probably it will take a while!
