Well, I’m no expert, but looking at your hiragana I think maybe you could give yourself more space inside the line to write? It looks like you’re trying to make the hiragana the same size as the English letters and also rest on the bottom line, but I find it easier to have space for characters when I write in the middle of the line.

Thank you! I’m reviewing until next year, then I plan on reading Quartet.
I have already bought Quartet!
It is truly less expensive in Japan than in France.
I still have four chapters remaining. Then, I will start Quartet.
I think I’d like to have a study group for Quartet. Maybe you will be interested as well.
However, I think you will begin before me.
Edit: I didn’t see the “next year part” when reading the post . I don’t know if you’re talking about school year or calendar year, but if you’re interested, it could work out!
Great news…
Thank you for sharing!
However, I think I’ll take a few more months on the Genki so maybe this group will have finish Quartet I by the time I join ?
Do you have some sort of Discord where you can practice speaking with each other, I think that’d be great!
It’s a casual study group, so you can go at your own pace- we’re not all following the same schedule. Some people just started Quartet 1, some people have finished it, etc etc. You’ll be fine to join in a few months!
There are a couple although I’m not sure which ones are still active. Myself and a couple others just started working on the Quartet speaking sections together on Discord but we would be a bit ahead of you by the time you start. Maybe we can sort something out when you start though!
Glad to hear it
I guessed as much. It will be okay if I’m not the only one to join in the coming months. Maybe @feralfuton and others will be glad to hear about this casual study group.
Thought of gratitude:
I found out that the more I explore the forum and participate in threads, the more I find structure in my study. With the ABBC, the write every day challenge, study logs, etc.
This place is a game changer.
I’ve been considering starting a study log as well. I think I’ll do it when I leave Japan and arrive in Chile. There will be a bit less Japanese people there
Agreed! This forum is probably the number one reason I’ve been able to learn Japanese, there are so many awesome resources, and the community is so lovely and supportive.
I’d love to read your study log whenever you start one!
↳ Learning a new way to congratulate feels nice. Recently WK is trolling me with all those 負け犬、弱虫、弱弱しい… (and the 千 ways of saying to kill )
Ah, that’s so awesome, I’m so glad!!
Same here. I’m usually one to drop hobbies after a while, usually a few months max. But the structure and encouragement I found here keeps me motivated. I felt that usual hobby burnout I get come and go, and it’s the need to hit those daily challenges even when I didn’t feel like it that kept me going through it.
Thanks for sharing! I’ll definitely join the study group when I start quartet.
I mean calendar year since I was studying Genki on my own. Genki covers a lot of material so I’m using the rest of the year to review and absorb everything before I move on.

I got lunch with my dad at a barbecue restaurant. We really like this restaurant! Since he is a veteran, the restaurant intends to hang up his picture. We will find a picture from his time in the navy.

Yesterday, we caught as many as 3 trout. But we only caught 1 catfish. Today, I am not going to the reptile expo. I will be going to another one with my girlfriend for my birthday.
Yeah, she has a snake! It’s a ball python. I like reptiles too, but I prefer bugs. I have tarantulas, scorpions, centipedes, and mantises.

Tomorrow we are going to my girlfriend’s sister’s graduation ceremony, then to a party. It will probably rain tomorrow, but Sunday should be a sunny day. Maybe we will go to the beach that day.

Yesterday, we got ice cream in the city. Then we went to the punk rock flea market. They had so many taxidermied goods so I asked if they do custom work. When my bugs die, I want to have them taxidermied.
Getting consecutive reply error so editing this one for my new entry.
