Introduction + Goals

Well, um, hey! About two weeks late to the party here  but happy to be here nonetheless!

I have yet to formally complete a challenge on WaniKani (I started the Winter reading challenge and ended up dropping out for mental health reasons) so I really want to hold myself accountable and be a part of this!

I know there are a few different challenges, but I chose speaking/writing because output, for me, often gets left in the dust compared to studying vocab grammar (or even fun input, like podcasts/manga).

While I don’t have any loft goals, I just want to increase my ability to form organic thoughts in Japanese, however simple they may be.

Tools I'm Using
  • Something in my regular study routine is Lang-Correct. I try to write one post on there a week. In my experience, you’ll usually get 2-3 native speakers correcting your grammar and providing feedback, which is so awesome. I’ve been inconsistent, so I’d like to use this challenge as a reason to build consistency.
  • When I’m not writing on Lang-Correct, I may just write quick thoughts/journals in this thread. I think it’s awesome people have been doing that, and I’m loving looking through what everyone has written!
  • I purchased a Shadowing textbook earlier this year (I think it was actually @soggyboy who first posted it on their study log that I got the idea from??). I’ve only cracked it open a few times, but it seems great. It encourages just 10 minutes of practice every day, which I know I have no excuse not to do
  • The dreaded HelloTalk voice rooms…someday I will figure out where I fit in on there!

頑張りましょう!
