It happens around mid December as the Christmas sale! There’s sitll a while to go until it’s live for this year
Textbooks are definitely not obsolete. Trusted, uneditable, and curated sources of learning are incredibly valuable in the AI age. The AIs frequently get things confidently wrong. That said, I use them to check grammar but always with the knowledge they are potentially confidently wrong.
I’m thinking of finding a way to afford the lifetime, on sale, if I can keep up daily practice streak until then.
The downside to a lifetime sub is that they could (as they have very recently shown) to make changes that you may not agree with. And then you’re stuck. Their attitude and strategy of weathering the storm of the “loud minority” with no intention of making changes also irks me.

I told myself If I could keep up the streak until the sale I would and welp, it’s here. It was a worry for me getting into the mindset of “trying to get the most bang for my buck” if I got monthly and burning out because of that, certainly happened with online games where if I have a sub I feel bad about playing other games
