I ended up going on Behind the Name, and going off pronunciation, their names are specifically Czech. I also learned that the diminutive of Miroslav’s name would be either Mirek or Slávek. I have no idea if I’m going to do anything with this information.

Huh, Mal starts out calling you and Lulu キサマ, Lulu tells him to stop, and he actually listens and starts calling y’all オマエ instead. That doesn’t stop him from calling other people キサマ though lol
Huhh, in EN, the level-up message is that Builder reaches lv n and Malroth gets stronger, while in JP it’s simply “ビルダーたちのレベルがnになった!” I wonder why they changed it.
Also, I finally double-checked—when Lulu introduced herself, she said she was from a town called ラプガナ, and I thought, isn’t that that forest in Delkadall in XI? Close. It’s ナプガーナ. No clue if they’re meant to be related. Might help if I could remember their EN names, might not. (But then again, the names I know are meant to be related share the first sound, like the first 勇者 having a name that starts with ロ. And a bunch of names in II starting with ロ.)
I’ll have to play further in Builders to see if the bottomless pot is Cannock’s かわきのつぼ. It looks different, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. The かわきのつぼ can scoop up any amount of water and pour out any amount of water, which sounds awfully familiar… I should be pretty close to getting it; I’m p sure it’s one of the earlier of the second mission’s quests, and I’m nearly finished with the first.
I also read before that you can get the Furrowfield dog to come back to your island with you post-game by using Ra’s mirror on her, and I understand that now. Now I’m curious if she turns into a human, both because of the princess of Moonbrooke and because for a dog to want an enormous cheeky room with max fanciness is, uh, 贅沢を言うなぁ.
Although a part of why I started II was so that I could gain some familiarity with Cantlin, as that’s the Builder’s hometown, and it doesn’t even show up in this game! It’s apparently in both I and III, but not II. (The other part was that I was curious whether Moonbrooke is an island country. It’s not. You’d think that’d tip the Builder off that something’s off, too, not just that Moonbrooke is still engaged in war and the castle hasn’t been rebuilt by the princess as they’d heard. “The war-torn island… of Moonbrooke? What do you mean, ‘war-torn,’ and what do you mean, ‘island’? It shouldn’t be either of those things.”
(Also so I could get familiar with Moonbrooke as it’s supposed to be, in case I ever write that fic where Tristan travels to the real-world Moonbrooke sometime post-game and meets the real Warwick…)

All in all, there were a lot of tutorials today but I felt really comfortable reading and looking things up for whatever reason. A pleasant session for sure! I think I may pick back up on some manga tomorrow 'cause it feels weird not having read any a few days in a row.
The struggle is real—hang in there! Nice to hear from you and that you’ve been finding some comfort in reading! 
I too am looking forward to the read-a-thon.

In FFVII Rebirth I finally reached the Golden Saucer. Of course they had to put some nonsense into the game. The events which happened at the entrance of Gold Saucer were pure cringe.

ビバリウム Adoと私 - 21 pages (20% → 26%)
I’ve been absolutely loving ビバリウム, the writing is beautiful and reading about my favourite person on the planet in the book’s original language is the most exciting thing ever - I don’t want it to end 
I’ve never read any non-fiction in Japanese before so I wasn’t sure what the difficulty would be like, but it’s actually been pretty easy going, albeit slightly more tiring than a light novel. I could go on for ages about how much I love this book, but for the sake of keeping this update from becoming an essay I won’t
I also just wanted to say thanks to the people who offered encouragement, I do appreciate it and it means a lot

I’m about to pick up my copy of ビバリウム Adoと私 tomorrow 3.12!
I am honestly nervous for it since it’ll be my first non-fiction as well, but this lowkey was the encouragement I needed for it. Have fun with the read!! 水

I was so tired when I got home, I ended up passing out for like 3 hours… maybe stayed up too late last night in the throes of バザールの販売… Anyway, after some QT with the spouse I read 2 more chapters of ギャルと恐竜 for ABBC and did pretty well with them! Have definitely come a long way with comprehension of this series. I believe that next week is the final week of the club! Excited for our next adventure, and to keep reading this series at my own pace, I think.
