The allergies really got me good this weekend. Very glad today’s Sunday; I don’t think I could handle another day of work like this. It was worse today even if the allergies themselves weren’t quite as bad, probably because I hadn’t fully recovered from yesterday. Sneezing and nose-blowing can really take a lot out of a guy. (I’m surprised I haven’t gotten a nosebleed yet, actually, or at least a proper one. A small bit of blood sometimes when I blow my nose, yeah, but nothing beyond that.)

omg, we finally learn why some of Kouji-san’s friends will call him ミヤコシ氏. (He has a group of three nerd friends; one of them used to play baseball, but even so, none of them talk about baseball together, and I don’t think the other two even care about baseball at all, though they all came to Koushien to support him.) They heard the one friend call him ミヤコ氏, didn’t realize it came from 都澤, and instead thought it was 宮越 and slapped a 氏 on there. Amazing. (氏 really was the wrong choice! Should we call him マニアック instead?)
They also misheard something he said to himself— “ケッショウ線でジュウダッサンシンを撮りに行く” —and now think he’s a トリテツ (写真を撮るのがメインの鉄道マニア) despite never having heard of such a line. “ケッショウ線” is obviously 決勝戦, “撮りに行く” 取りに行く, and “ジュウダッサンシン” … 十奪三振 (じゅうだつさんしん)? 十 + 奪三振 makes more sense than 十打 + 三振, I’m pretty sure? He wants to get ten strikeouts in the finals. Anyway, that’s when the ex-baseballer finally starts putting it together why the other two will use ミヤコ氏 (宮越, apparently) and ミヤコシ氏 interchangeably lmao. (They also think Kouji always skives off—even though he’s very serious and literally the ace and starting pitcher—and don’t react when “Miyakozawa-kun, uniform number 1” is introduced, so he’s just sitting there like, “…… ………… D-Don’t tell me, these two…” Ayup.)
Also. Normally when chapters have the same name, they get numbered. But the ones named ミヤコ氏 just get an increasing number of exclamation marks. It’s hilarious
I forgot to note yesterday because while I knew it was the last day of February, I wasn’t aware it was the last day of February, y’know? But I read (finished) 24 books last month, again only 46% being manga (and most of the rest being novels or short story collections in EN). Which brings me to 54 attained this quarter and 51 dealt with, so not ahead anymore but not too far behind, either… for now lol. My CDJ order finally made it to Cali this weekend and is predicted to arrive tomorrow.
(Well. Today, now. I’m posting late this time because I was wondering if I should play something on my Switch, and if so, what… and then I fell asleep. Hah. Was more tired than I thought, I guess.)
