Tiny read. Kanae is streaming too much. Seems like there will be a break tomorrow, he got other plans. I’ll have time to read more then.

Day 42:
Chapter 5 of からかい上手の高木さん4. Had some time early this morning and wasn’t sure how the day was going to go so I finished up the reading early, and now I’m not remembering the detail all that well, but it was read and enjoyed and I know the next chapter is about poker so that’ll be interesting too!

  • Finished case 2 of Gyakuten 2, laying it down for a bit to try and finish this LN by month’s end.
  • Read a bit of 2番目 on the train, getting back up to speed. I forgot that by comparison to the other LN series I’m reading, 清水さん、the narrator in this likes longer sentences - thankfully not too complicated though. But I still have to occasionally use gtranslate to get a better gist of what is actually being said before I jump back to look at the sentence properly

 牧場物語Let’s!風のグランドバザール video game 1hr45min

Sat down with 牧場物語 for my chunk of free time this evening. Spent pretty much the whole time reading the 町長’s explanation of the バザール, or basically the market mechanic of the game. Instead of selling your items daily, you sell them at the market every Saturday. It’s a cute little minigame where you can put your 商品 onto the table and ring a bell to attract people’s attention. You can also swap it out if it’s not selling, and you have to go up to the NPC to take payment fro them. Nothing super complex here, but I was deep reading for full comprehension, so…

I’ve got no interesting pictures this evening, so instead picture me, tired, nodding off on the couch while waiting for marketgoers to approach my virtual table, then jerking awake to find a queue of people waiting to checkout. Terrible customer service; she’s sleeping on the job!!!

I did manage to get to my 自宅 (new word), learn a few other menu mechanics, and finally learn how to save the game after 3 hours total of gameplay! Hooray! It’s been pretty funny comparing notes with my friends also playing; someone today told me they were in the middle of summer after 8 hours of playtime, and we both laughed when I told them how far I’d gotten. …I’ll catch up eventually, right? Right??

February 9
Some friends came over and we had a party. I didn’t have that much time for reading. Just played a bit 英雄伝説 碧の軌跡 and read manga magazines.

武州公秘話
巻之四 - Read until the next picture. There’s quite a bit of dialogue at the moment, and it can get confusing which person is supposed to be saying what. I find this is awkward in English books too at times though, sometimes wish that dialogue could be written like it is in scripts.

I’m excited because I got today and tomorrow off thanks to some Chinese clients. It’s my first day(s) off in 3 weeks. I’m spending the rest of the night filling in missing vocab for the JoJo Book Club. I’m not sure if I should count the volumes here though. Technically I’m reading but I don’t feel like it’s reading lol

2.17 Edit
I finished volume 5 of オヤジ and absolutely loved it. It’s still cohesive in its themes while being funny and the pacing of the character development is slow in a realistic way that matches with the main human character being a retiree and human beings being slow to change. I wish there was even more to read because of how much I enjoy it as entertainment but also with how easy it is to read as a learner. I might nominate to the BBC.

I decided to drop 小学生なら since I’m both too busy and the content so far just hasn’t been particularly interesting to me.

Strangely enough the story mode on Oradora has also started to annoy me. I think it might be because it’s only partly voiced. I love the manga and I like the anime, so I think it being between the two is what bothers me.

二月十一日

  • Read a few pages of 絶叫学級 11

二月十二日

  • Read コンビニ人間 (65%). Equivalent to week 15 of 19 of the IBC Primer Book Club.
  • Read a chapter of 絶叫学級 11

It was a holiday on Wednesday and I spent the day with the kids so this was the first time I didn’t do much reading…I tried to make up for it today though lol.

A proper reading session. I want to quickly finish this book so I can read something else.

Day 43:
Chapter 6 of からかい上手の高木さん4. This is one where it’s easier to feel sorry for 西方 because he wasn’t outsmarted by 高木 for once, but just very unlucky.

Awesome well done!! Not that long ago you weren’t sure if you could finish the first volume. Now look at you go! I’m a bit behind but I’ll catch up. What’s next?

Yea I was making a big fussy about it (I’m embarrassed ) I guess the hardest part was starting and then realized it isn’t as bad as I was making it out to be. You are working hard as well, keep it up and I think I will read volume 3 next.
