巻之一 Finished the first section of volume I and made a start on the second half.
This name came up: 桐生 and thanks to the Yakuza games I could recognise it straight away
Somehow I don’t think it is refering to Kazuma Kiryu but it will be fun imagining that it is
Week 3 of my plan to post a weekly update every Sunday and I already forgot to do it 
How am I so good at reading consistently, but absolutely terrible at remembering to post about it?

I’m really glad I joined this reading challenge - it was kind of a last minute decision to join but I’ve been more consistent than I’ve ever been since starting. It’s motivating knowing that I’m being kept accountable in a way, plus reading everyone’s posts is incredibly fun.
I’ll most likely finish my current volume of 安達としまむら in the next day or two, after which I’ll start reading another LN alongside 蜘蛛ですが - likely something light-hearted and slightly easier, since 蜘蛛ですが is definitely the most difficult book I’ve read so far and is still quite mentally taxing. Nevertheless I’m really enjoying the story and am aiming to work through it at a pace of 15 pages (or roughly 5%) per day, which should mean I’ll finish it next month! That is, assuming everything goes to plan.

I’ve reread at least 254 pages of this book now. I skipped a bunch of POVs after the main story and the epilogue in favor of a certain character’s POV 
14.5k characters today. I’m getting more cravings for favorite scenes. I’m not done with this series yet.

Reading: よつばと！① 
p124
よつばは巻尺でお父さんを怖がらせてしまった。その後、風春が来た。お父さんは下着だけ着ています 
I read a bit last night also so making good progress. Interesting that Wanikani has 量る(はかる) but not 計る(はかる). Both mean “to measure” and have the same pronunciation, and both kanji are in WK but 計る is only there as a standalone kanji. I guess that’s a good example of how WK plus extensive reading works perfectly together - I was able to guess the meaning, and the pronunciation was there too, and later when I learn 量る in L24 I’ll already know the pronunciation and meaning by association. Thanks universe

Tadoku Graded Reader lvl 2: 夜の図書館
A little easier than the last lvl 2 I read. Also, I just got 図書館 last week on WK, so that was cool 
I’ve been super busy the last few days, so I haven’t been practicing katakana. Still doing about 15-20 daily lessons and 120+ reviews on WK though.

・71 pages of 境界のメロディ②, reading into ch 2 and leaving off on pg 104
・11 pages of 化石少女と七つの冒険, finishing ch 1 and leaving off on pg 51
Shamisen guy is named Cain, but it’s pronounced カイン rather than ケイン, and he looks exactly like Kai but with silver-blond rather than golden-blond hair—even has the same fashion sense. I guess he’s a Brit who’s obsessed with Japanese culture, though he thinks samurai and ninja are still a thing lol. When he was a kid, a busker gifted him his shamisen before returning to Japan, and he plays because he wants to meet that person again. And, well, he didn’t say it in so many words, but he thinks it’s a crime that more people don’t like the instrument, and he wants the world to fall in love with it as he did.
