Very good reading day, haven’t read anywhere near this much since the readathon. I wasn’t planning to do much reading at all today, but I got so absorbed in the story that I couldn’t stop.. until my brain stopped braining.
Tiny excerpt from the book (not a spoiler):
足をばたばたさせる。
ばたばたさせる。
This was me while reading today because of how adorable the story was. I’ve really been enjoying the character progression
I just saw this Challenge today, and since one of my goals this year is to read at least one page a day, I joined. I may really only read one page a day, but even that is more than I do now. Maybe it will become a habit because of this challenge. Maybe I’ll end up reading two pages a day!
Day 10:
Read the second chapter of からかい上手の高木さん, it was a little more challenging than I anticipated but I still followed enough to get what was going on. Definitely feeling like it’s the right pace for me still.
I found this one more challenging to read, perhaps because it’s not a story. I accepted the challenge and read for 10 minutes up to p25. I figure when it hurts my brain a little that’s a good thing, as long as it doesn’t make it negative or unenjoyable. 日本に城がいっぱい!
Didn’t get a chance to post for a few days, so a multi day round up today! I finished Nana 9 with the club this week, and also finished up Good Morning Call today. The newest 僕ヤバ came out this week so I’ve been slowly reading a chapter a day also. Gonna need to figure out what my next physical manga is gonna be now that I’ve finished up this volume of GMC. Stay tuned!
Did my reading for the ABBC book club today, which went quite well. Also got some grammar study in, including some key points that’ll clear up some murkiness around what I’ve been reading.
Went to my local library’s grand opening for a new branch in my neighborhood. Super fun, and I quickly found myself in the teen manga section scoping out things I could possibly read in Japanese. Found two that seemed like they’d be reasonable for my level, and the Natively levels do indeed line up. Not gonna like, it took everything I had not to walk out of there with Vol 1 of 夜の名前を呼んで because the art was so gorgeous…
On a whim, I decided to see whether I could switch my old copy of Pokemon Shield to Japanese and I could! Wiped my save file, started over, and ended up playing for nearly an hour. Got through the intro and out of the MC’s house, which I spent some time looking around. I was pretty surprised at how much I understood, though the Pokemon and location names were tripping me up pretty badly. Might see if I can find some kind of name reference and try actually playing through it a bit.
For everything related to Pokémon, I suggest using Pokejisho.
You can write the name of anything from Pokémon, moves, ability, items, whatever, in either English or Japanese and it will point you to the relatives wiki pages in both languages.
I was separated from my physical manga collection for a while :’) BUT NO LONGER, so now I’m able to continue reading the series!! I want to finish the series this year hehehee, only 9 more to go
