'Tis TIme for Torture continues. After this vol if I pick this up again it will probably be a ‘background’ manga for me; a single chapter is pretty short and easy (only like 10-12 pages?) but there’s so many of them, reading in one go is a bit much. I’ll probably end up reading it simultaneously with other stuff.
Today I went through my Wanikank daily session but, most of all, I texted my Japanese friend in Japanese. We do that almost daily, great on the writing side, but a good way to practice reading as well.
Day 7:
Completed A Sign of Affection. Didn’t understand as much of this chapter as before but felt like I caught the gist enough to be satisfied. Nice story, will likely come back to it later and try it again when I have a stronger grasp on grammar and vocab, but for now it’s done and dusted!
After doing really well last week, this week wasn’t a stand-out in terms of reading (other than Sunday!), but it was at least consistent.
I predict the next couple of days will be similar in the run up to my holiday as I have lots to do. But then Monday and Tuesday will involve lots of reading on the plane!
It was the first book I read on my German learning journey many years ago! Maybe reading it first as I learn more languages will become a tradition.
I’ll keep you updated on my progress. For now I’ve only read the introduction. Not having furigana makes things a bit difficult, but somehow I can remember all the new vocabulary much more easily? Maybe it’s the extra mental effort.
Today I finished my Yellow Magazine+ for the week! It was from last year about the ending of his music show おげんさんといっしょ
I think it was a good idea to start out small with my goal of at least one YM article a week Because some of them are pretty long!! (That and I should probably work on my JP reading stamina haha)
Throwing my hat in the ring! Might as well couple this with Korean reading too. Starting with 30 minutes per language, may or may not downscale if it gets to be too much.
