March 25th - Home post
Today I started a new visual novel (plus an informal book club at Natively!) - SeaBed. It looks like a beautiful story, but it’s really a little too difficult for my current Japanese level. I hope that with the help and encouragement of a book club I’ll be able to finish it.
In addition, I read a couple of chapters of 君と綴るうたかた 2 and finished the volume, and I read this week’s reading for the ルックバック book club. So much to read, so little time!

I need to hone my habit of going to sleep early. So not the biggest read today.
Btw, one interesting thing my tired self forgot to mention yesterday from when I was reading 推し、燃ゆ: I came across the expression 坊主憎けりゃ袈裟まで憎い = “if you dislike someone, you will end up hating everything he stands for”.
I swear it was the first time I’ve seen it while reading. However! 
My brain and its bizarre ability to associate words and whatnot to song lyrics and melodies somehow remembered that the expression was in a certain song. It’s in Wozwald (lyrics, penultimate line of the 2nd verse). It’s a song I’ve known since 2019!
Me upon realization: “And here I thought I’ve never seen that phrase” 
Feels weird how I didn’t know it was an expression until I encountered it while reading. I’ve many times had the experience of finally understanding the meaning of a song lyric I’ve revisited (I love singing), but never have I directly connected a whole phrase like this instantly to a specific song while reading a book (not that I can think of, at least). It was so bizarre.
