Another good day yesterday. Felt nice to close off Natsuki. I picked up some cool fantasy vocab from it but I won’t be carrying on with it with the LN book club, just not for me that one.
Also read the two stories for this week’s Doraemon. I particularily enjoyed the そっくりクレヨン story.
I feel like I’ve reached a point with the light novel where other than new words, it feels comfortable to read. The book is split into three stories, so I’m going to try and see if I can finish off the first story this weekend.
Finished the day 1 investigation for case 5, on to court. The cowboy is by far the hardest witness in this case because not only is his speech ideosyncratic but he is constantly talking about cacti or the badlands or whatever… though maybe I should take the opportunity to learn the word for badlands…
Continuing with Bad Girl 1. I don’t dislike it but it’s sort of like the other Kirara/4koma I’ve read to date, the effort-reward ratio (for me right now) is kind of skewed. Doesn’t help the scan quality is a bit low and they cram a lot of text into each box. Still hopefully should be done tomorrow then can move on to something else.
This hasn’t been a great week for reading. Other than 約束のネバーランド, which I’ve been binge reading.
Three days were only nominal reads, and I think I’m behind on most of my clubs. But I did anticipate this week being bad.
My other issue is that my iPad decided to crash again today. That’s what I use for most of my reading. I’ve just factory reset it and am waiting for it to tell me how many hours to restore it. I go to Japan tomorrow!
On that note, the next few weeks of travel will hopefully be good to catch up. I will make a plan!
So I don’t think I’m going to try to go back and figure out my last week of reading. What’s important to me here is that I did read every day. It was a bit of SBR, a bit of Colors, and the beginning of the next JoJo volume. Hopefully I’ll get back on track with everything and be able to meet my personal goals.

Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel 2
The last days of school I talked to the other students, did all the quests I could find and fought my way through the last dungeon but had no time to beat the last boss.
Eighth time participating! Last autumn I participated last minute and this season I started a
month late but I’m trying to recover to my glory days where I didn’t miss a single day… (which never happened lol)
I’ve started forgetting some kanjis now that I’m just about finished with WK so I’m hoping to be active in the forum clubs to not lose my skills!
my plans
I’ll just start reading e-books too at this point to be honest. I’ve never liked reading them but I can’t see myself buying new books any time soon after I’m done with the ones left in my bookcase. Soo yeah.
I’ll use my standart format which I write a sentence or two in Japanese about the progress on the novel I read that day so that might help you get some reading even when you’re scrolling here.

I haven’t missed yesterday but I only read the bare minimum just before bedtime and I was too tired to even do the update because I went to sleep immediately afterwards.
Began reading chapter 3 yesterday and continued reading the first scene today.
February 8
I am finally done with Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel 2. Somehow I managed to beat the last boss but had to use the dlc items I got free included with my game. I liked the bittersweet ending although it was still a bit strange they spend only one year in school.
How hard was the language of the game? Definitely N2 level and above some rarer expressions were used and the language was sometimes a little overdramatic but it is far from impossible playing it in japanese. Don’t believe the people who claim it’s impossble to play in japanese it’s not. Approximately only 10% to 15% of lines were voiced, so it counts as reading.
Started to play Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel 3 just to see the setting of the game.The new menu interface will take me some time to get used to.
I think for now I will focus more on other things than playing video games in japanese maybe reading some book.
Unfortunately, I had to skip Friday I didn’t have a lot of time today either, you know, these social interactions But tomorrow I plan to stay home and do a lot of Japanese.

It was only half of a chapter, but we have a couple of new characters. I’m curious what happens next.
Began the trial for 逆転裁判 case 5. This witness is less annoying than the cowboy but still a little overwrought.
Compromised on Bad Girl by just speeding to the end without lookups because I was finding it kind of annoying. Strikes me as a ‘this would be a decent read when it’s easier’ sort of manga.
Felt like diving back into Frieren after a long hiaitus. Forgot that everything has furigana - makes looking things up sooo much easier…
