- More Cardcaptors, will probably finish today. This is fun but between Clamp’s trademark awful male anatomy and the slightly difficult to follow panelling for action sequences it’s surprisingly hard to read for something rated 19. Oh, and Kero-chan’s Osaka-ben can get a little tricky sometimes.
Aimed to post yesterday but decided to read a few pages instead!

Not going too badly. I haven’t done quite as well as I hoped on the novels, and only slowly catching up with the dictionary (but not falling further behind). Manga-wise I’m going ok - didn’t complete all the readings this week but nothing is more than one week behind.
I’m off today (and maybe tomorrow) so have some reading time ahead.
Did you read a paper version or ebook? I’m thinking about reading some essays next year & your review makes me want to read this collection!

This felt like a long read. Probably reached halfway through chapter 6. I can finish it tomorrow if I put in the effort. Looking forward to sit down in the morning with a cup of coffee. (Today I spent many hours looking at houses for sale just for inspo)
Also! Today vol 2 of the Honzuki spinoff novel was released. It landed in my inventory. For some reason I’m not as excited for it as for other books I have on my plan-to-read-soon list. But it’s up there.

Jokes aside, it was quite a pleasure to read, I had a minimum amount of lookups. There were a couple of colloquial words that I just ignored, but other than that it was fine. So maybe I finish it sooner than I thought.

Finished week 6 of book club! Week 7 started yesterday, but it’ll have to wait for another day.
・ 硝子の塔の殺人 (0% → 11%) [1]
I’m doing audiobook trial and tried listening with 1x speed. It was a bit too fast. Then I tried 0.8x speed. It was better, but I still had to rewind a lot and look at the text. Then I figured just reading along with the audio would be much faster. So I switched approach. Reading along with 1.2x and 1.3x speed is going well. I’m not doing nearly as many lookups compared to reading on my own while still comprehending most of it. Nice nice. I still do lookups if there’s something I don’t understand.
