Also got quite teary eyed at one particular panel. 
This made me kinda sad to read! I couldn’t imagine giving up any game I’ve loved that much… Maybe it was out of their control.

Haven’t been able to do much lately… But at least I’ve kept reading the obligatory one chapter of ケロロ軍曹。Today’s chapter was somewhat triggering though. Now, a lighthearted and crazy manga like this should not be triggiring, but that’s just the kind of cat I am…

With the JLPT approaching, I started to spend more time on preparation. Unfortunately it means less time to read for pleasure.

I haven’t looked at my JP copy of IX yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s still got its adventure log since MJ did—although actually I’m not entirely sure if you can wipe the save file without saving over it? I didn’t look too much into it. It looked at first as though you could have multiple save files, since there’s both a continue and a start new option, but starting new saves over the current file. Makes sense for the DS, though; there probably isn’t enough space on the card for more than one file. I don’t remember how many hours were logged on it, but they only had I think 3 madurite, so I’ve gotten further
But on my first copy of IX… I have 1,847 hrs, 56 mins logged. It’s not even my first file on there, but I have had it since high school and spent a lot of time playing multiplayer with my little sister and/or doing grottoes, and most of it is probably from back then. I bought a second copy a few years ago specifically so that I could replay without losing the DLC quests since the server was taken down. The only playing on this one I’ve done recently is to canvass for guests with my second copy (which I forgot to do with my last save, whoops, oh well) since I also want to expand my inn. This is probably my all-time favorite game, and the only way I’m selling any of these three copies is if I have no choice. I honestly don’t see myself ever falling out of love with it, though there were other games that I loved back then that I couldn’t get into as an adult
I love yellow so I love it lol. And yes, it’s great! My regular stand mixer couldn’t handle the bread I was making, it would get soooo hot. The Ankarsrum really will take whatever you throw at it, it rocks.
Depending on your DS model (and willpower) you can softmod it and back up the save! I did that for some JP games I bought, couldn’t bear to overwrite the previous owner’s hard work…

That’s volume 2 done! It weirdly feels like a complete story, though obviously I know it goes on for way longer. Not sure whether I’ll read ハイキュー v2 or とんがり帽子のアトリエ v1 next…I kind of wish I had more よつばと！ to read but I’m all caught up

- The case continues. I’m going to need to memorise some of their name kanji. Ace Attorney is fairly readable, but because a lot of the names are weird puns and they don’t keep the furigana in the accessible character profiles or refer back to them too often, people’s names can be a pain.

I’m very happy with my progress of Apothecary Diaries. I do notice it’s starting to become a smoother read than in the beginning 
There’s a part of me that’s thinking “what if these last chapters were just easier than the beginning…” but let’s stay optimistic for now 
I have passed the 50% mark of the first volume now. Both in terms of chapters (32 in total) but also pages—I’m now at page 173 of 340 of my digital edition. I think I might check out the anime soon-ish. I was at the 園遊会 and there were endless description of what all the characters were wearing but now I need to see 
With Frieren 7 and Jujutsu Kaisen 2 finished, I’m now at 10 finished books for April! Crazy, not even half the month is over 
and, for the record, Apothecary Diaries chapter 18 and Frieren chapters 72+73 were read this morning (April 12) while everything else in this post was on April 11

I’m tempted to pretend like I read for two hours as a part of the mini-readathon, but in all actuality I just felt like reading which I think is just as good! These two chapters were much smoother than the last and it felt good to get back to a level of progress I haven’t felt I’ve been reaching this month.
Considering that I also read all 4 volumes of しまなみ誰そ彼 in English in the past day and a half, it’s been a good weekend for reading!
I’ve got travel prep the next two days, so I think it’ll be book club readings the next two nights. Hoping to get some good reading in on the plane ride, and I’d love to just vibe out somewhere nice and read as well.

I think I’ve been too focused on certain aspects of the language ever since I finished high school, which is when I had structured Japanese classes last. I’ve worked through anki decks and JLPT books, and got JLPT N1 8 years later, taking 3 kyuu (old N4), N2 (failed once) and N1 (failed once or twice and stopped for a few years). All of this to say that I’m realising through this challenge that I haven’t really consumed Japanese in way that I can see words and kanji “in the wild”, and paid proper attention, as opposed to seeing them isolated as words/kanji when studying. I think that explains a feeling of inadequacy I’ve been having when texting with a very good friend of mine. Sometimes I’d misunderstand or not understand at all, and it has grown into frustration. Knowing this, it motivates me more to study and get to a point where I don’t feel this discomfort anymore. 頑張ろう！
I’m also spending way too much time on Threads reading stuff in Japanese there but I’m learning a few things there as well so it’s not completely wasted time? haha

This is the readathon total , started reading at 4:40 pm and stopped the next dat at 12:20 pm . I read the novel first due to my initial enthusiasm but later discovered that i was punching way above my wieght (my brain melted ) so i then switched to 星のカービィ(1 (cute kirby cured my brain) and then i went to sleep , woke up the next day and purchased the first volume of kuma bear (cause why not again ?) and read the 1st chapter +1 page of 2nd in an hour . The initial reading of novel helped me somewhat in reading the manga but the author also made some changes in the how he told the parts of chapter (he shifted the inner monologue 
) so that had me confused for a bit but the visual context helped me so no worries 
.
This readathon helped me understand that i was trying to run (or maybe fly ) before i had even begun to learn how to walk , reading a novel at level 5 wk and half the N5 grammar is really is not easy . I will now just finish the first volume of kuma bear (my coins….
) and switch back to reading manga of my level . Thank you for joining me on this readathon @lattepatatte , @Redglare and @Ditto20 san . ありがとう this is the only way i know to thank people right now so bear with it
