I think it’s set up to be stricter in Japan about having the 受信契約 set up, compared to abroad maybe from what I’ve seen

I think 2, 3 and 4 kinda apply to me lol, been playing Hades a lot and just doing not much otherwise.
And it does feel like a chore but for no obvious reason since I actually really enjoy reading in japanese. Maybe just execution function, maybe shitty sleep, maybe just a phase, who knows. I will try to not think about the challenge and just read daily.
I am actually 70% sure that it’s my ADHD : since I have other tasks to do (but I am not doing them), my brain isnt allowing me to do anything else (but I am still not doing them). Will try to fix this so I can read in peace

Continued my daily playing session of 英雄伝説 碧の軌跡. キーア is actually a super smart girl. That’s awesome I am proud of you. It seems we won’t see ティオ for a while but ランディ will come back soon. I’m going at a snail’s pace I won’t finish the game this year.
During Prime Days I got a new Kindle Colorsoft with three months of Kindle Unlimited. That probably means I will have less time to read in japanese.

Sorry for the late response, I liked it a lot, it was really enormously satisfying to simply blitz through content like that. The author manages to tell so much with drawings alone, which allows him to keep dialogue short and poignant. It gets quite a lot darker in later volumes, so I don’t know if that could put you off it, but I liked it a lot.
I actually started reading another series of them,血の轍, about the effect that a very toxic parent has on their son… Not really an easy subject and it shows, I’ve been going a lot more slower because of how uncomfortable it makes me, in a good way.
Maybe with ハピネス I read it so fast because in my mind I subconsciously kept thinking “well, the stuff about vampires can’t happen in real life”, but this… Is disturbingly realistic.
Definitely not for everyone, but I personally like when an author manages to evoke such a strong reaction from me. Even if its unease.
I’m on volume 3 of 17, will probably go back to reading また同じ夢を見ていた.
Or… Find a cozier manga to read alongside this lol

I’ve been reading at a pretty good pace so far, finished 3 volumes in the first 10 days. This quarter, I plan on making listening a daily habit alongside reading. I found a podcast about manga that seems somewhat interesting I’ll listen to on walks to start with. I also intend to brush up on some grammar points I’ve been ignoring - time to finally go through these N4 practice books that have been sitting on the shelf for years.

I played 英雄伝説 碧の軌跡. We have a rainy day now, which is awesome I hate it that in some games you always have good weather. Is it just a cool weather effect or foreshadowing future events? Who knows, I will probably find it out soon.

あおうま can be a reading of 白馬、but it’s probably more likely to be written as 青馬 with that reading, for old-ities reasons this story gives the furigana for 白馬 as あをうま. I don’t think you’d be winning any quiz points if you gave that answer for a modern quiz though
