藪の中
Decided to read ‘In a Grove’ next, think this is might be known as Akutagawa’s most famous work. It’s interesting as each chapter is a testimony written by a different character, the mystery of the murder slowly unfolds from different points of view.
Read the first chapter, the testimony of the woodcutter.
ふらいんぐうぃっち7
第37話・魔女のあだ名
第38話・あっちの菓子折り
第39話・犬が甥の草を刈る And that’s all I’m going to have time for today - have lots of admin work to do after some time away
well, won’t be continuing with that manga. (sexual assault content warning) the main character rapes a woman on-page (for multiple pages) and then immediately afterwards she’s like i’m gonna marry you now! yuck. even for depictions of women in manga in the 70s, that’s well over the line for me. between that and an appointment i’m stressed about today has not been productive.
Mostly watching today but got 30 pages of LN in
Will finish in the next few days, down to about last 25% now. A whole bunch more LNs to start because I’m feeling LN’y at the moment for some reason (easy and breezyだから)
When will I remember the reading for 精進 = しょうじん?
精 - blue rice (radicals). “Sjå! Det finnes blå ris” (Look! There’s blue rice)
Wait, why am I thinking about Jul i Blåfjell now suddenly? Norwegian tv advent series from 1999. I used to watch growing up. One episode airing every day from dec 1st until dec 24th.
進 - progress. jin… jin… “If you make enough progress harvesting blue rice and blueberries you can make blue jeans”. It requires diligence (精進) to make the best blue jeans in Blåfjell.
I’m surprisingly doing well with reading exercises. So reading for hundreds of hours since the last exam wasn’t for nothing. And also I’m going through it faster than I thought.
Buuut I tried out some grammar and vocab test questions on some websites, and it is awful… So maybe I need to think again about my Japanese plans for the upcoming month
