I’ve been busy 
! Haven’t missed a day yet with either Spanish or Japanese, though.
I’m actually way, way ahead with my Spanish reading goals, because I ended up finishing Aristóteles y Dante descubren los secretos del universo in just six days, which is by far the quickest I’ve ever read a novel in a language other than English.
I bought the sequel, Aristóteles y Dante se sumergen en las aguas del mundo, which is several hundred pages longer, and I’m actually almost done with that, too. So I need to find a book to read after that…
As far as Japanese goes, I finished 美しさ by よしもとばなな in Read Real Japanese Essays, and have started the next essay! Still have quite a ways to go in the book and I haven’t been making great time, so I’ll have to pick up the pace there if I want to meet that goal.
With pro wrestling, this month has been, uh, A Lot! My favorite tag team of all time (and the reason why I’m into wrestling, as well as the reason why I’m learning Japanese), the Golden Lovers, finally reunited in-ring after 4.5 years 
. It’s kind of funny because it looks like this next chapter is going to be mostly happening in All Elite Wrestling in America, so there will probably be fewer opportunities to practice Japanese, haha.
But, well, this is pro wrestling, so everything is connected… Konosuke Takeshita is bringing his AEW storyline with Kenny Omega (and Kota Ibushi) into his work at DDT Pro Wrestling as well. Here’s Michael Nakazawa’s writeup of that (in Japanese) on the DDT website. I read this extensively (it helps a lot that I had followed this whole story as it was happening in English, haha. But I wanted to know Nak’s spin on it).
The moment I read this part, "そして竹下が抜け一人欠けたジ・エリート側には誰が入るのか？DDTファンにとっては竹下とケニーという顔合わせは見逃せないものになるだろう。(ここで多く触れるつもりはないがジ・エリート側の伏せられたメンバーとの顔合わせも見逃せないものになるだろう。) " I knew for sure that Kota Ibushi was going to be the 5th person on The Elite’s side, and sure enough… 
With Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, I am currently a little bit in 翻訳地獄 haha because they’re in the middle of probably the busiest time of year for them, which means I have a LOT of translation work ahead of me if I want to keep up…
TJPW’s second of their three big shows a year, Summer Sun Princess, happened on July 8, and that was 9k characters worth of translation for me, so it took a while ! Really fun show, though!
So far this month, I’ve finished translating the 7.3 press conference, all of the posters for the 7.8 show, the 7.10 press conference for the start of the Tokyo Princess Cup (wanted to get that done before the tournament actually started, haha), and finally finished the 7.8 Summer Sun Princess (split into two parts for length) translation itself!
I am currently four shows behind, thanks to TJPW doing three shows in a row last weekend… . It’s a lot of fun as a fan, but a bit stressful as a translator, haha. My current goal is to try to get all of the round one tournament shows translated before round two starts, but I only have a week, so we’ll see…

The Tokyo Princess Cup tournament happening means that I’m actually coming up on my translation twitter account’s one year debut! I believe I started it at the beginning of August last year, after getting frustrated by people misunderstanding the story that was told in the same tournament last year. So that’s pretty neat! I’m proud of myself for sticking it out this long. I wish twitter had not gone so downhill as a website, though…
I also found out last night that apparently my translation blog has had 1,422 unique visitors this year alone! I was honestly floored by that number. It’s wild to imagine that many people reading my work… I’m happy, though. My tweets have been getting increasingly less engagement, so it often feels like my translations are only appreciated by a few of my friends and a handful of strangers, so it’s nice to know that they’re helping a lot more people than that.
