Post your Apprentice Count /// Playing the Waiting Game

atm i’m at 86. But i’ve had it around 100 the last few weeks.
Due to having a high Apprentice Number, I get lots of reviews daily and with lots of reviews come lots of mistakes. which only adds up to the Apprentice Count.

I want to continue with the next level.
The new Radicals & Kanji’s are staring at me with a 0 out of 5 Apprentice score… :raising_hands:
But I feel I have to slow down and lower the amount of words in the Apprentice rank first, so that I have I smaller list of new words and make less mistakes.
I used to have it at around 50+/-

What is your usual Apprentice Count? High or Low?
And have you played the waiting game, where it’s only reviews for a couple of days until it dropped.

Mine is 70. If it goes above 75 then I don’t do any new lessons. Needless to say, I am taking it quite slowly!

Slow and steady wins the race they say.

9!? How, does one even. Did you stop doing lessons for a few weeks?

nearly, it’s just that right now i’d rather focus on reading more than wanikani so i’m doing mostly reviews
probably when uni ends for the summer i’ll kick it back into gear

is this good or bad

Whenever I see a number larger than zero here it reminds me that I have like 6 months minimum left before I burn everything…

I wonder what my peak was, though. I did all of a level’s lessons as soon as I unlocked them so there were plenty of times I had 400+ reviews in a day, and I never had the best retention, so I’m sure I must have had 150 or more apprentice at some point.

Doing 3-4 lessons a day, my apprentice count is currently at 31. Getting less than 50 reviews per day is nice, and soon it will be about 30 per day.

Mine fluctuates between 50 and 100. In theory since I’m mid level right now, it should get lower soon, while I wait for that second batch of kanji to get to guru, and then it’ll increase again for the beginning of the next level.

Generally between 100 and 125.
