@scarecrowfield and @NothingTea
actually, I just pushed a fix for the move/touch/draw issue, please let me know if it works for you now ![]()
Works perfectly now!Thanks.
It doesn’t move anymore, but it doesn’t recognize my pen’s click either. I’ve even tested on some drawing website, and it works just fine.
@scarecrowfield I just pushed an update. Is it okay now?
Also, I added gridlines so it’s easier to pay attention to structure and proportions (see the screenshot).
Unfortunately no. But the grid works just fine!
Could you please send me a link to drawing website that works for you? Perhaps I would be able to look into their code and copy their approach.
Glad to hear grid lines look good to you ![]()
I’ll follow this thread. keep us posted on your progress!
FWIW, I had a very similar challenge, but also, I really wanted to learn how to write, so I got into the habit of always copying new kanji learned into a custom list in robokana that corresponds to my current wani level.
after my daily wani revision, I always do 5-10 min of writing.
Robokana is a bit clunky, and opaque in how it selects what characters to make you write, but I found the writing experience itself very pleasant (I use an apple pencil on an ipad mini). It sometimes quizzes the kanji only, sometimes its various vocabulary uses. It works surprisingly well for revising vocabulary, and solidifying my recollection of the various readings of each kanji.
gave it a try, works pretty well for me. I’ll try to build it into my routine.
couple of observations:
I found that the undo buttons don’t work for me (adds extra challenge. like drawing in ink instead of pencil). ipad/safari.
also, on a tablet screen, would be nice to be able to resize the boxes, to avoid scrolling, and show the whole word at once.
Usually any website works, but I’ve found this website that kind of smooths the trace.
