I don’t see it that way, no. Aren’t we talking about what it takes to be truly proficient in Japanese? It’s not easy of course, but maybe you’re under the impression that it’s a smidge harder than it actually is. Also, a leaflet wouldn’t really let people read street signs, because there are so many things those can say.
If your leaflet covers everything up to N3, isn’t that just called a book?
I really understand some of your points in here. I am still at level 13 (and don’t plan to quit right now, because I really believe that WK can help me a lot with reading, as it has been even on lvl 13), but something that really bugs me out in WK is that for someone who doesn’t have english as their first language sometimes is very hard to understand some stuff. I think my english is okay, as I am able to read a lot of hard books in the language, but still, it’s not something that I’ve learned since childhood. Sometimes I put a meaning that IS the meaning of that kanji, but WK has a synonym which is very much similar to what I wrote, but mine is wrong, so the word is sent back. It’s something that has been frustrating me a lot with WK, besides some stuff that I have never heard about, like “yurt” and “cleat” (still not sure what the last one is). But I think most of it is more about me in particular.
Adding your own synonyms is pretty much a necessity for a good WK experience, honestly. In the end it’s about learning what the kanji mean in Japanese, not what their translation is in English, and definitely not about learning what possible English translation keeps WK happy. As long as the understanding you have of a kanji or word is correct, you know said kanji or word, whether WK lists it or not. Doesn’t even have to be in English, by all means add synonyms in your native language if that helps.
Oh boy. If you’re offended by typos and misprints, you’ll be in another world of shock when you come to Japan.

Seconded. Sometimes WK seems to digest several meanings to a kanji into one meaning, with varying results. Adding my own synonyms really helped clarify (and use of) a lot of kanji for me, especially when we’re talking about non-physical concepts.
I also plan to leave SRS apps when the time comes. Your time is better to spend elsewhere. Good luck on your journey.
