I learned 召使い (めしつかい) (servant) while watching a Vocaloid concert on Youtube.
What’s funny is that it can be written 3 different ways. 召し使い, 召使い and 召使.
A lot of kun+kun combinations can be written like that. Basically, leaving off okurigana saves space.
E.g. 受け付け ＞ 受付け ＞ 受付

I played a demo for a crime/thriller visual novel on my Switch and this popped up within the first few minutes:

I’ve been trying to ascertain if/how 目白押し (jostling, milling about, crush, being jammed together) relates to the bird. Perhaps it is something to do with the birds’ behaviour, as I found on image of a heap of them crowded onto a branch. There’s also a 目白駅 in Tokyo.
