Alas, it is only for Android. I’ll look for something similar in iOS. Thanks
I think dipping my toe in real language usage trying to do more immersion might be a good direction for me. I was a bit hesitant to do that until I have enough vocabulary, but maybe that is a mistake. The Miraa App looks like a great lead. Thank you.
I like using Miraa together with Nihongo con Teppei podcasts - helps me figure out some of the missing words in my vocabulary and review some of the more confusing / complex grammatical constructs.
Cheating lets you move on but also breaks the SRS timings.
A better solution might be: when you see a kanji you don’t know quickly and confidently, fail on purpose (i.e. use the “don’t know” button), then type the answer they give you. This reinforces the correct answer but gives you a better SRS timing for retaining it. It’s also fast since you don’t waste 30 seconds trying to come up with the answer (and reinforcing that wrong answer since you spend so much time with it in your brain).
Provided I use Smoldering durtles then, seeing as Wanikani doesn’t have don’t know-button.
Oh yeah I do use Smouldering Durtles. I’ve lost track of what things it has that the basic app doesn’t have.
EDIT: Even without a don’t know button, you can quickly type an obviously wrong answer for the same strategy.
