I have put up Dunlewy’s Meandering Study Log.

This wiki doesn’t seem to want to add mine. Help, please!

I spent a very pleasant few mins reading through the replies to taiyousea’s challenge while I was stuck in an airport yesterday. I get a little lost with the sheer volume of logs (and frequency of posts within the logs) there are, but I love hearing your reflections above on progress made over the years. I lurk more than I post but it is wonderful to hear so many stories of the enjoyment (and sometimes hardship!) people have derived from their learning journey. Thanks to all of you that outweigh any internet bias to negativity by setting such a positive tone to (most of) this forum. I think the logs are a key part of that. Gives hope to the rest of us!

What a fun idea! And reading everyone’s responses is really nice too

Why did you start your study log?
Mmm I like it as a way to organise my thoughts, I can sort of dump everything under headings and then I’m like oh yeah I did do that amount of reading this week, plus its nice including other things and chatting about them with others.

What aspects of study logs do you like the most?
I’d say its that nothing inspires me more than seeing other people passionate about learning and putting effort in. When I’m reading people’s logs regardless of level and seeing their journey and thoughts on learning methods, getting excited about progressing since they started, or reaching milestones I get so pumped up to do my best as well. Passion is very inspiring :sparkles:

And additionally with the personal parts too like when people talk about their other hobbies its nice to see what else the people you see in threads do in their lives, there’s a lot of varied interests here which is pretty neat.

What are your favorite kinds of replies to read/receive?
Honestly anything, I’m just happy anyone took the time to read anything I wrote and its so nice when you see people cheering others on.

Were/are you inspired by any specific logs?
I’m currently making a list of inspiration logs on my own that I’d like to flick to from time to time for motivational purposes. I’m usually drawn to pretty ones or nicely organised ones since I do like organised things, but also its good when there’s thorough discussion of their JP learning

Here’s a few people’s that inspire(d) me for various reasons :muscle:
@mitrac @soggyboy @taiyousea @Shannon-8 @hemuli

And I’m sure I’m missing some but I have the memory of a sieve but I have a bunch set to watching so I can pop by whenever they update!

Relatable lol, I try to rationalise with myself about it to make myself feel better though, cause for me there’s so many study logs that I want to read every single update on and leave a few comments but if I do that its gonna eat away several hours every week that I should be doing work in so I assume its similar for others. I love detailed updates they’re always the most interesting to read they’re just also the hardest to commit to if you’ve got a busy day  Though now you’ve mentioned it I feel like going on a log reply spree

Why did you start your study log?
Mainly to hold myself accountable, but also to be able to ask questions and have a reason to draw pixelart. :blossom:
What aspects of study logs do you like the most?
The routine of it. It’s nice to have a place to come to every week and see all the progress you made summarized. But the social aspect is a close second! It’s amazing that you can ask questions and have other language learners give their advice and perspective.
What are your favorite kinds of replies to read/receive?
Honestly, all the replies! Everyone is super nice and helpful so far.
Were/are you inspired by any specific logs?
I actually tried not to deep dive into logs too much in the start, as I am very easily distracted. But now I am giving myself Sundays and Mondays to look through logs, which is a nice way to start the week!

:yellow_heart: Weeb’s Study Log :yellow_heart: definitely made me want to draw banners and be better about formatting. :hatching_chick:

:sob: My study log has disappeared! I have asked the All-knowing Crabigator if he knows where it went. I hope he knows. Otherwise I will have to start over.

I leveled up today. :grinning:

Now I see it! I wonder where it went? I couldn’t even even get it from this page for half an hour. Thanks for letting me know it’s back.

Strange!!
