Leveled up to 44 after 92 days and 12 hours…
That’s gonna leave a scar in my level up routine.(well whatever). I got it behind my back and i got level up gift of 70 lessons T.T.
Also one more level for the second observation deck🥳

I have arrived at the second observation deck!!
Paradise actually is sort of Paradise for me, at least compared to Hell and Death. Strangely I already knew or had seen in the wild many of the kanji on Level 43 and Level 44 before.
I’ve also reduced the amount of lessons I do each day to 10, and once I gradually get this pile of 200 (doesn’t seem like a lot but throughout the day I get another 100-200 reviews) down it shouldn’t be too hard to keep up with WK and maintain studying other aspects of Japanese.
Level 60’s not looking too far off now! Less than a year until I get there, that’s crazy

Good luck climbing everyone! I have been level 60 for well over half a year now. I kinda miss learning new kanji at WaniKani and climbing levels to be honest…

I think there is plenty of kanji in general to make up for that in a customized Anki setup

Yup, i have a separate anki deck (specifically HouHou), with 1500 entries now, and adding new stuff all the time. However, I have basically already added all the useful kanji, and I only add a rare new kanji here and there for fun, not for the usefulness.

Meanwhile still clearing lessons, still got 200ish left LOL. And start reading more. After clearing lesson, I’ll return to bunpro hehe, been hiatus for too long.

Yup, congratulations again! I still consider graduation from WK being great milestone on my JP learning way. You know, when the plane is not yet flying freely, but at least got off the ground? Yeah, this moment. Well, at least “plane left it’s hangar”, maybe?
And so many いいね’s to bunpro. It’s fun to think I’ve took N2 this December w/o finishing even N5 on bunpro. And I felt myself quite confident with it. But anyways, I want to finish it as well.
Results of 試験 should be available online around this or next week, so it’d be thrilling moment.
Besides that I’m still keep doing my italki routine and serving my practice in 就活. Borders are still closed, so this confusing plans for some other people, but on my end I totally feel this state being favorable for me, since I can finish some issues home before taking one-way ticket.
You know the best thing I love about attending 面接s? God, it’s 1h of language practice absolutely for FREE with being able talk whole your heart contents about the subject you love most with people who UNDERSTAND it. Man, I got addicted to it, ngl. Downside is one can eventually employ you and then all this responsibility thing come into the place, so watch out.

Hello! Congratulations to all people who leveled up in January!
It’s been a month since I’ve got to level 60, and today was the first day I did not have any WK lessons done since … November of 2019, basically 812-day streak:
How did this happen, no clue. I think this is my longest daily streak excluding regular human biological activities like eating, or drinking or etc 
Feels good to not have pending lessons (at least until WK adds some more). As for reviews, they are still relentless, so I do not see the end of the tunnel with reviews yet. Here are my stats now:
I’m very slowly working on grammar. I got back to bunpro after 8 month hiatus, reset to zero and started adding one grammar point per day following bunpro lesson order. Al course these starting points are well known, and the speed is very slow, but I really do not want to get into another strenuous SRS until WK load gets to be much-much lighter.
In addition, I’m reading Death Note with Beginners Club. This manga has a lot of text, and as a result, some sentences are pretty readable (some are of course beyond my ability). Overall, I like this manga the most of all my previous reading materials. Maybe it’s factors like it not being a picture book for toddlers, having furigana for kanji, excellent art, suspense, and also the fact that I vaguely remember main plot points from anime.

Is it hell only if you try to speed run it or is it hell either way?

I never tried to go max speed after level 5. I was doing 11 lessons per day on average, so it took me 12-13 days per level. Same for so called fast levels. I did not mean to discourage people at all - it is all still doable! Also I believe it is important to plan the after game activities, things to keep one going past reaching this goal of reaching level 60, because this goal is quiet artificial Reviews don’t stop at that time.

Months are coming, months are going. Here we are with another update on them stats:
I see more and more climbers find their way in the upper levels! 
Every sixth participant has already reached the first observation deck. The shape of the distribution changes accordingly. I’m very excited to see how it will develop in the coming months.
The climb continues and the average level keeps on rising, although it bends a little downwards ?! 
Must be those climbers that reached the top. They are stuck at level 60 and can’t climb further! WK needs more levels for linear average level growth

It’s been a looong way for me, but i finally reached the top!
I climbed 27 levels since 20th August 2020, so i was about 3 times slower than the ideal 1-year track.
It was a good time though. And i still have a lot of durtles to burn!

Same! But I’m gonna chill on level 50 for a while to catch up on vocab before sprinting to 60.
Actually 11 levels left because 50-60 is 11 levels, 51-60 is 10 levels.
