Y’all, I found a great website for listening. Its increased my confidence so much. I’m not using the paid service yet and it’s still very helpful. (I also turn the subtitles off and whatnot.)
Personally: I felt a little sceptical that videos with such blatant/ strong visual queues would help me when I would listen to podcasts, but it has! Only an hour or so in and I suddenly understand nihongo con tepei beginners so much better. it’s like it’s unlocked that corner of my brain that refused to associate Japanese words with concrete things. (Not an affiliate link just excited.)
Yep, it’s awesome. I’ve only just discovered that there’s a difficulty level that’s more granular than “absolute beginner”, “beginner” - it’s in the filter where you can filter by difficulty score and that’s a gamechanger for me. I was frustrated that the “absolute beginner” stuff was too below my level but I couldn’t handle the beginner stuff yet, but now I found that I’m okay at around difficulty level 15 and rocking that now.
