Japanese dictionary question - また、その

I’ve seen this a few times already in a online japanese dictionary, but I don’t quite get what it means. Basically, it gives a sentence defining the word and then says また、その (repeat a word). For example:

体験
自分で実際に経験すること。また、その経験。

The first sentence seems to indicate that 体験 means one’s personal experience. So what does 「また、その経験」add/clarify about the definition? Is it a suru verb thing, where the first sentence is describing the act of acquiring the experience (verb), and the second sentence is saying also the experience itself (noun)?

Yes, it’s the act of experiencing and the experience itself.
