I finished WaniKani (up to 60, but still burning items) a week or two ago, and since then I’ve been using Anki to further solidify grammar and speaking. I sort of neglected these on a quest to speedrun WK (took about 16 months), but wowow it really feels like I’ve learned a ton. I don’t enjoy reading NHK rn because there’s still a lot of stuff I don’t know but Japanese Language Blog Archives - Japanese teachers' audio blog - JOI Learn Japanese Online has these blog posts that are pretty entertaining and I can read! So cool!
I’m still far out from being close to fluent, which is the goal, but I’m going to be super conversational by the time I move to Japan which will be sick! WaniKani was definitely a catalyst to get the ball rolling from whatever I was doing for two years before it.
