I would agree that maybe there should be an LTS (Long Term Support) version of the program/app that script authors can program against, but when you introduce external dependencies like custom scripts to software you should always expect breaking changes when something gets updated. An LTS build would address many of the concerns people seem to have, and it might already exist, not sure.
I’m using the vanilla version of WaniKani on desktop and haven’t had any problems. The new layout and hotkeys work fine; I’m ok with the changes implemented.
