Major general makes some sense if you consider that major is the lowest of the 3 field grade officers. Major general is almost the lowest of the general officers.
Not that either is truly minor, they are both prestigious compared to most soldiers.

Wanikani needs an option to opt out of words entirely (beyond just never taking the lesson) so that they can add more niche words without it harming the experience of others. And they also need a “skip to guru/burned” option for words we already know. Like I made it to level 52 but you’re really gonna act like this is the first time I’ve ever encountered お風呂? Bunpro handles both of these problems perfectly.
