I seem to have inadvertently offended someone

Yeah, that’s a little unlikely. Even the thinnest Macbooks have at least 1 USB-C port nowadays.

Yeah, but on the other hand, USB-C thumb drives are relatively uncommon.

Yeah, but we’re talking about a workplace in Japan. If the laptop has a serial port so it can plug into the fax machine, that’s all you need. No point in upgrading until it breaks.

Sorry everyone, it’s not a laptop, it’s a tablet! But it’s attached to a keyboard thing so it looks like a laptop, so I’ve been calling it that out of habit, sorry for the confusion

Actually, I didn’t really investigate it properly so there could be something covered up/filled in, but I’m like 90% sure it just doesn’t have one, but I’m back at that school on Friday so I will check!

If it’s a tablet it might still have a USB-C port, but one that only supports charging (so no data transport lanes).

What we need is a fax machine with wifi support so one can send faxes directly from their Apple devices.

I’ve got a 2021 MacBook Pro and it’s got about the most ports any MacBook of recent years has had - from an HDMI port, to a SD card slot, to a 3.5mm jack.

However, it has not a single USB-C port.

It’s got three things that look like USB-C ports.
It’s got three things that take a USB-C device.
Just don’t let Intel catch you calling it USB-C.

The way USB-C connections are implemented by various vendors is anyway a joke :stuck_out_tongue: .

Take that European Union!

I’ll be real with you guys I simply do not know the difference between them, I was just talking about the chunky hole that you put the USB sticks into :sob: but I googled it and that is what the charger looks like, but I don’t know if it can take data or not, because we can’t take in any outside electronics other than our phones, including any data devices like USB sticks or hard-drives, and the only ones the office has to borrow are the chunky ones! (I think from googling it, I’m talking about USB-A?)

I hope that clears up any confusion, sorry for not being specific enough in my original post (to be completely honest, I didn’t really think it mattered at the time )

I have learned a lot today!
