I noticed in my WaniKani studies that I was becoming too reliant on the clean and particular representations of characters and kanji, and struggled to parse anything that presented character or style beyond my direct experience. I was learning the particular representations, but not the patterns.
So I wrote an extension to randomize fonts on reviews.
Don’t worry though, you’re lessons will remain untouched.
This was a personal project and my first time writing a browser extension, so the UI isn’t pretty.
And while I’ve only published to Firefox, if there’s literally any interest let me know and I’ll see about publishing for chrome.
Mind I used the Crabigator logo for the extension image because I’m hardly capable of my own digital design, but am happy to replace it if asked.
Also mind, while the screenshots show a new font for every review item, the extension actually only picks one font for your whole review session whenever you begin a review. I should redo my screenshots.
