Hi. This may sound like a silly question but is there a way of practising on’yomi and kun’yomi? I feel like I can only remember each vocabulary individually and not because I remember which kanji reading works when.
It’s more important to focus on the readings of vocab on the whole, since that’s what you’re going to encounter in the real world. As you get more experience, sorting things into onyomi and kunyomi will just happen naturally.
And while there are general rules of thumb for predicting which reading will appear in a vocab you’ve never seen, there are also plenty of examples that don’t fit those rules. You can have words that combine onyomi and kunyomi together.
I would say, just don’t worry too much about it right now.
