This is much of the point that I don’t like about practicing handwriting. Traditionally, same things are written all over, before really trying to write a sentence at all. That is, it wastes time learning to comprehend, and also Kanji choosing for an actual writing. At least, it may weaken the focus on the real goals.
Also, writing doesn’t perfectly apply to typing. Perhaps still need to remember pronunciation.
