Finished Textfugu

I finished Textfugu. I was wondering if I should move on to Genki 1 and 2. I know that Genki guess further than Textfugu, but would it be worth it? Or should I move on to “Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese”. I know I should work more on wk, so that I can focus on the the other things other than kanji more. What do y’all guys think? What level should I get to before the intermediate book?

Not from personal experience but reading around online when I was having questions too.

I’d pick up Genki I, go over that and read any chapters that weren’t covered in TextFugu. Then jump into Genki II if you’re ready. I remember reading somewhere that TF covers 2/3 or so of Genki I. Not sure how true that is though.

I’d be curious to hear what other people think too.

Edit:
Here’s a course on it

You could look through that and see what you know.

My thoughts exactly. And once my kanji reaches like 700 to 1000 . To get that intermediate textbook.

If you end up going with Genki I post about it! I’d love to hear how it worked out.

The Japan times status that intermediate book is a smooth transition from Genki 2. I will go with Genki series I decided.

I just got both Genki I and II just for the listening practice
I’ve never used Textfugu, so I don’t know how deep it goes, but I can tell you what the Genki books cover
Sorry, this is gonna be kind of a long response

If you end up buying them, the workbooks are pretty useful as well  I only ended up buying the second one but it’s good practice!

Thank you for posting this. Looks like Genki series goes much further than Textfugu. I’m definitely getting them.
