Figuring out what Japanese pronoun to use

I’m my intuition that it was jarring wasn’t flawed then.

That I don’t know, but I don’t think it would be an issue. As far as I know 僕 has become pretty popular as a pronoun for all genders, while many (uni students) feel like 私 is becoming too feminine and too stiff for your normal everyday conversation. I’d use 私 in formal situations as many Japanese men and women do.
If you talk to Japanese friends, chances are they won’t care which pronoun you want to use either way

Classic isekai/reincarnation/time travel trope.

Go nuts.

Tough luck, brethren.

I just like using 私. I guess I’m biased since I only use it formally 99% of the time, but I also don’t feel like an オレ guy, unless maybe I’m drunk or with friends, and I’m not in middle school anymore, so no ぼく for me.
