As for the rest of your points, for all the ones that share kanji like 支 and 母 they’ve already said they’re adding the kanji meanings as invisible synonyms, so once the update goes through no one will get those wrong for that reason.
That’s good, I always found that very frustrating, I’m glad they’re working on that. I still think that 支 should be introduced as “support” though, without having to go through and check that radicals aren’t future kanji.

yeah, i would instead suggest creating synonyms for whatever radicals OP has learned - i’ve done this with a few and with a few that will not stick in my brain. Like - explosion looks more like a firework to me and it’s close enough to work. I also think that as time goes on you’ll still need to learn some of the wacky ones for WaniKani’s stories to work (particularly as you get to Kanji that are visually very similar).
