EDIT: It doesn’t actually shake remembering it now - it just says that’s not quite correct but still allows it. It is quite correct though of course.

“We decided not to add 一巻の終わり yet, as we don’t usually teach an idiomatic expression on WaniKani. However, we’ll consider adding idioms like this to WaniKani in the future in some forms.”

Gotcha.
I will say that that’s slightly disappointing, since I feel like I’ve occasionally seen some items have notes about how the word is commonly seen used within a certain phrase, and for what it’s worth this expression shows up in a number of the dictionaries I’ve searched.
But it is what it is.

Yeah, just next time reply to the topic instead of my post.
Also, since text within images probably isn’t scanned with an OCR and associated with the image, it’s probably best to explicitly type out the changes you’d like to see. That also makes it more clear for everyone and means it’ll show up in searches in the forums.
Just letting you know that while we may add it in the future, we have decided not to add it for now as we already have a few words that teach the な reading (無し, 無くなる and 無くす) and we also teach ない as a kana-only word.

- 鬱気 (50) - Added “gloomy mood” as the primary meaning, added “feeling downcast” and “gloom” as the alternative meaning, moved “gloomy,” “melancholy,” and “gloominess” to the allow list, added “feeling depressed,” “feeling gloomy,” “downcast mood,” “feeling down,” and “feeling melancholy” to the allow list, and updated the meaning explanation.

This is such a bad reply. Dissecting the specific examples given deemphasizes the main point of the original post which is valid. There are many, many such issues with synonyms that just make the service painful. If it weren’t for WaniKani Double-Check, I probably would have moved on long ago.
If you look at the flourishing Userscripts landscape, it’s clear that there are dozens of issues with this service. Many of the userscripts should be made obsolete by implementing their functionality as a core feature of the service. Synonyms is one such case.

降る - Should warning/shake for くだる and possibly even おる, the latter being a (上一段活用) conjugation of 降りる (if my understanding is correct).

Once I again I am humbly asking that 滋賀県 be added as vocabulary. Firstly, because the kanji for Shiga don’t have many vocab words. Secondly, I live in Shiga, and I’m intensely biased

反 Not even asking to add the actual word 反る, just mention the 訓読み.
Imagine my surprise finding out that 反 actually has a 訓読み reading… I see this every day
reading and hearing this sentnece:
体が後ろに反らないように注意しましょう (source RFA Nintendo, so not just me also more than a million Japanese who played/still playing this game)
It is also written in Jisho, Midori and Goo辞書.
I think that writing None in the reading table when there is actually a common word that uses it is a bad precedent UI/UX wise, no matter how much you wish the users would understand you only provide some of the readings, using None in the kun’yomi rubric of your readings table contradicts it in a way that creates a false piece of information the brain absorbs as an absolute fact especially beginners. I would really appreciate if you’d change this both as a user but maybe more so as a web designer.

I fully agree. And I remember it happening quite often with WK. One of the many reasons I learned to double check everything I learned on here on Jisho to be absolutely sure I wasn’t “learning wrong.” Which seems like it should be so easy to fix. Just a bit of clarity that there’s this other common reading that isn’t in the course would be enough.
Especially with kunyomi readings, which you will encounter frequently in the wild. There’s quite a few that are missing where the site will just tell you they don’t exist if you take the lessons at face value. Also why I’m not too fond of “kanji reading and vocabulary reading” as the partition since my brain automatically assumes one will be on and one will be kun, and that’s not always the case. It’s a separation handled in a way that makes less sense the more you actually use the language instead of just the app imo.

I’ve always thought that kanji should just be burned when it’s guru’d, because once you unlock the vocabulary those readings should take precedence because those readings represent how the languge is actually used. It’s not worth my time to remember the meaning and reading you arbitrarily picked. I absolutely despise when I get something wrong because I use a correct but not accepted reading for a kanji reading, or when I can remember what the kanji means via the vocab it’s used in, but can’t remember the exact wording they used for the kanji meaning, when kanji don’t have strict meanings/tenses like that anyway. Like if I answer sterile instead of sterilize. Like come on, clearly I’m remembering the meaning. I didn’t answer purple.
Also things like “working earnestly” vs “earnestly working” kill me.
