Bad usage of "coat" mnemonic?

I don’t remember exactly off the top of my head which kanji or reading it is, but I know that the mnemonic “coat” is used by both the reading “こた” and “こと” at some point, which is very confusing. I find myself failing to remember the ones that use this “coat” mnemonic very often because it is just a 50-50 guess which reading it is.

I will update the post when I have time with the specific kanji.

Readings with ‘coat’ for the mnemonic こと 事 こた 答 こつ 骨 It’s been brought up in other threads but I didn’t see any tricks for how other people distinguished the readings in their minds. I’ve been trying to think of alternative mnemonics but can’t come up with anything myself. What mnemonics did you come up with for the こ* readings?

I’ve also started watching/reading この音とまれ! ( Kono Oto Tomare! Sounds of Life) which has really helped with the こと readings.
