Arch Linux (with Xfce) and WaniKani

Hello, I’m found an old laptop at my parents house that I decided I’d put Arch Linux with Xfce on as a fun little Christmas project.  I’m rather new to Linux in general and came across an interesting issue when on WaniKani where the font size of radicals/kanji/vocab in lessons and reviews is very small (see image). I’m I figured it would be best to check here in case there is anyone else who uses Arch Linux that could point me in the right direction for fixing this as I’m at a loss as to what to check. If no one here knows what might be causing it I’ll head over to the Arch Linux forums (or just not worry too much about it since my Debian and Windows machines work fine).

I don’t have linux but maybe you can try using a different web browser like Google Chrome. If that doesn’t work, you could always just zoom in.

Could you try installing the adobe-source-han-sans-otc-fonts package, restarting FF and check if it works?

EDIT: also, try following the steps here: Font Troubleshooting

I’m using Xubuntu with XFCE and I have no problems with Wanikani.
But please tell me if you find out what’s causing it and how to fix it. I plan on switching to Arch soon.

Also, just try playing around with the CSS. Worst case if you’re running Tampermonkey (or whatever the Firefox equivalent is) you could just apply a stylesheet on top to bump up the font size.

Trying this advice first.

might take a while to download that package on my internet here. I’ll also be sure to try my next review on Google Chrome to make sure Firefox is not the issue (even if it is I’ll still see if I can get it working in FF since I prefer that browser.) Next review for me is in 2 hours and if I’m lucky I’ll have that font package downloaded by then.

I'll be sure to! There are few things as frustrating as looking for a solution to a problem, finding a forum that seems to have it answered, only for it to end in something to the extent of "fixed it" with no further explanation. Have fun with Arch when you do switch!

Doing this install and rebooting did the trick. (note: I rebooted my entire computer out of habit from having just set it up, so if simply restarting FF doesn't work try a full reboot.)

Thanks for the help guys!
