As one who did MI ie Machine Intelligence (ie faff-free AI), perhaps this application could also be called ImageAssembly, or perhaps AIA (Artif.IA) if you must. You’re assembling images from a database to satisfy a spec. Is that artificial? It’s the current Leading Edge. Just as SteamPower & Telegraphs could once have been thought of artificial HorsePower & PonyExpress. The algorithm, the search engine code & electrons whizzing are real, right.
Okay, that’s my soap box. What new thing, even a StoneAxe,ver.1b, wasn’t once “Artificial” and an upgrade from Teeth&Claws,ver0 
So, … suggestions (sites UTubes etc) for an old MI’er to get into these new image generation softwares?

I haven’t used ChatGPT to create mnemonics for any of these images; however I have used ChatGPT in the past to help me w creating written mnemonics (or brainstorming) if I was struggling to find a useful concept myself. That situation is where I was pointing the advice given that you quoted above.
All of these image-based ones, I come up with the mnemonic concept myself and then attempt to cajole either DALL-E or Grok to create the image I want. Many times I end up getting some of it in different image-generation runs, and using an image editor to compile the final product.
Sometimes, I just can’t get the image I want created in any way. A good example is 乱. I wanted creepy looking creatures with umbrellas instead of tongues; but no matter what I did I couldn’t get any AI image software I tried to create properly. So I had to go a different route.
That’s ideal, and it’s what WaniKani does if possible. Sometimes it doesn’t fit the mnemonic well, so I ditch it and use something else. Whatever gets me to memorize the thing that I’m failing often enough to go through the effort of creating an image.
I don’t have any myself - but what I’ve used so far is Dall-E and Grok. Usually one or the other has been able to get me close enough to what I want.

I’ve restarted at L1 after a few months break at L24 (how do you spell burn-out?) after being v disciplined and using Word to make my own db. Like you, I made my own mnemonics when WK’s were Lame, after checking Ulrike’s mnemonics on Joy o’Kanji.
And now, frankly, I didn’t even pop the radical names in 乱 until you mentioned them. So, I think pictures … actual pictures not just mental images … will help.

Are DALL-E & Grok easy to get into?
They have been for me. Dall-E is free (with usage limits) - just have to set up a free ChatGPT/OpenAI account. Grok I think requires a base subscription to X (formerly twitter). However for its image generation it uses FLUX.1 by Black Forest Labs. I imagine you could go directly to them if you have no use for X, but I have no experience doing that and can’t vouch for the pricing nor how well it works.
I’ve never heard of that one, though I’ll check it out. I was using Kanji Damage for a while myself when WK mnemonics weren’t working for me. However AI image generation has really changed the game.
