Nowhere I usually check outside of Amazon (CDJapan, Manga Republic) has it for preorder yet, so I’ll have to remember to check again closer to the release date, but unless I just completely forget, I should have it by early August.

I set a reminder in my study log to check for it on the release date. I’ll let you know if it looks like it’ll be getting here late, but I don’t anticipate it taking a month. August 5th sounds good for now.

I went ahead and made the thread for volume 12! Reminder that we start in 3 weeks!
I also wrote up a little FAQ to add to the top post of this thread. Let me know if I should add anything to it or change it! idk if we’ll even get new readers at this point 
but I thought it would be a nice addition and I wrote it just in case.

Just got back from Kinokuniya with my copy of volume 12 
This cover art is great. The subtle color palette differences between volumes is so… its so 極主夫道! hahaha
I usually find chapters that involve our two local police boys amusing and Traffic Safety School is a pretty classic comedy setup. The back cover has an illustration of Tatsu in a baseball uniform. If he plays baseball like he plays volleyball we can expect shouting slang from the batters box.
Can’t unwrap it yet though, too soon.
@meagstudies Thanks for your great club upkeep as always! Maybe your modernization of the club will grab some new readers?! Hmm, I’m now just realizing how badly I have failed at advertising this manga. I’ll see if I can work it in in the future. I imagine Ruri Dragon and/or Rakkasei and Rojica readers would be interested.

Oh yeah I bet they’d be interested! This was a BBC pick after all, so I’d imagine this would be a good next step after those manga.
This made me realize the back cover art is included at the end of the digital version! Usually I quit reading once I hit the copyright info and all that.

So… does starting in a month sound good? That would be Saturday Jan 6. I’m also okay with starting sooner, but with the holidays, shipping, and the lack of notice (my bad!), I don’t want anyone to feel too rushed or overwhelmed

Hi everyone, excited to be joining the club!
I fell in love with Kinki Japanese after reading Kiyo in Kyoto with the beginner book club. It was such a fun experience, that I couldn’t resist delving deeper into Kansai dialects. I stumbled upon this book club recently and was thrilled to see it’s still active. I’m currently reading volume 13 with you all and catching up on the other volumes in the meantime.

It’s been a great 2 years, but I’m stepping down from running this club. I’ll still be reading future volumes and watching all the threads, and I’d still be down to chat about subsequent volumes, but I’m not going to be updating it like a formal club anymore. If in the future anybody wants to take over and read future volumes as a formal club, feel free to do so
