I finished two so I’m allowed to start a new one. And like the whole point is to read a lot so if the motivation is there… Anyway, I gotta have a food break and then I think I’ll attempt some prose.
Ended up reading for about an hour before going to sleep yeste-… well, today, technically. I should really fix my sleep schedule. Anyway, I’ve read just about one more hour since waking up.
I have to go take a nap because I’m feeling extremely sick again, but I did get from page 112 to page 171 (59) in 約束のネバーランド. That’s also 50 more minutes.
My last bit of reading was SBR until I passed out and if the math from pokemon sleep is good, that was about 20 min, maybe 25. I read 30 pages in that time frame which is much more reasonable for my personal level lol
I’ll do addition and whatever math on my home post sometime this weekend
Second session, and I think this’ll be it for today as brain kinda wants to turn to mush.
At least this time around I stopped at a natural break in the story, if a little sad one.
I have to say, I am really impressed at everyone’s ability to do extensive reading in Japanese… after 1 hour, my head was already exploding! But I’m quite close to my stretch goal of 3 hours total - I didn’t want to waste a lot of potential reading time during the day with updates, so I’ll just post a full update when I’m done reading.
Lol, I sort of did ditch work in order to do my readathon hours. I always take off the Thursday/Friday for the first round of March Madness basketball, but this time I also put in a PTO request for the Wednesday, so I could do my reading on a different day from watching the tournament. It’s the first PTO I’ve taken all year and I’ve been working more than a bit of overtime recently, so I don’t feel guilty about it. But still!
Most of my silly little tasks are done, my coffee is brewing and breakfast is cooking, and I am ready to start reading at 2025-03-21T18:00:00Z. Congrats to everyone who’s read and finished up already, hope you had a wonderful time and got in some excellent reading, and I am looking forward to reading with everyone today and tomorrow!
2,5 hours so far, but my longest session is 31 minutes! A lot of small breaks / other things to do.
Estimating that brain will be fried in around 2 hours and that I will call it a day then, let’s see how much more time I can manage to read today!
Likewise, that’s a skill I’m sorely lacking. My longest single reading session was 1 hour, with most of them being around ~30 minutes.
Going for several hours in a row… I’ll save that for when I don’t need a dictionary by my side.

First update, finished volume 1! Adding a long prologue kinda caught me off guard, but once we were into the real story it’s been following the anime relatively closely so far. Lots of fancy words, but if memory serves most of those fancy words get repeated a lot, so this will probably be the slowest volume. It’s moving a lot faster than the show does, so should get into some good bits pretty quick. This is about the speed I was expecting to read this at, so should definitely be able to manage the rest
Unfortunately, I can not see the small print in the book, even with a magnifying glass. I guess I’m done until I can get a stronger magnifying device or something with larger print!
